President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday termed the Indian Constitution as a living and progressive document through which we have achieved the goals of social justice and inclusive development. The President made these comments during her address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on Constitution Day, emphasizing the significance of the Indian Constitution in shaping the nation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Constitution is India's guiding light.
Tuesday, 26 November, marks the 75th Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas. The day is observed to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26 November 1949 by the Constituent Assembly.
The observance was officially declared in 2015 to honour the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.
