Indian Railways introduced special trains: To handle the increased number of travellers during the winter season and festive rush, Indian Railways has launched several special trains. These services aim to make travelling easier for passengers while reducing the burden on regular train services.
Special Trains from Mumbai to Dr Ambedkar Nagar
To manage the extra rush of passengers this winter, Western Railway has planned a bi-weekly special train between Bandra Terminus in Mumbai and Dr Ambedkar Nagar.
Timings and Stoppages
- Train No. 09301 will leave Bandra Terminus every Thursday and Sunday at 3:45 PM and reach Dr Ambedkar Nagar at 7:30 AM the next day. This train will run from 12 December 2024 to 2 January 2025.
- Train No. 09302 will start from Dr Ambedkar Nagar every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00 PM, arriving at Bandra Terminus at 12:30 PM the next day. This service will operate from 11 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.
The train will stop at key stations including Borivali, Vapi, Udhna, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain, Dewas, and Indore in both directions.
Special Trains to Sabarimala
To meet the needs of pilgrims travelling for the Sabarimala season, South Central Railway has introduced two special trains between Hyderabad and Kollam in Kerala. These trains aim to provide a convenient travel option for devotees.
Schedule of Sabarimala Special Trains
Train No. 07193 (Moula Ali to Kollam)
Departure: Wednesdays ¨C 11, 18, and 25 December at 6:55 PM from Moula Ali.
Arrival: Kollam at 11:55 PM the next day.
Key Stops: Nellore, Salem, Coimbatore, Palakkad (3:40 AM), Thrissur (6:18 AM), Aluva (7:07 AM), Ernakulam (8:10 AM), and Kottayam (10:03 AM).
Train No. 07149 (Moula Ali to Kollam)
Departure: Saturdays ¨C 14, 21, and 28 December at 6:55 PM from Moula Ali.
Arrival: Kollam at 10:30 PM the next day.
Stops: Same as Train No. 07193, with slight differences in timings.
Return Journeys
- Trains departing from Kollam will return to Moula Ali on alternate days.
- Both trains have AC three-tier, sleeper, chair car, and general coaches, providing options for all travellers.
Special Trains Between Secunderabad and Villupuram
To further ease the pressure on regular services, South Central Railway has introduced a one-time special train between Secunderabad and Villupuram.
- Train No. 07601 will leave Secunderabad at 7:40 PM on 12 December 2024 and reach Villupuram at 1:05 PM the next day.- Train No. 07602 will start from Villupuram at 4:05 PM on 13 December 2024, arriving in Secunderabad at 9:40 AM the following day.
These trains will include AC two-tier, AC three-tier, sleeper, and general coaches, ensuring comfort for all passengers.
