To tackle pollution levels in the national capital, a 7-point plan has been announced by the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today. A part of the plan would also include the implementation of odd-even scheme starting November 4.?
The periodic move will come into effect post Diwali in an effort to curb the pollution levels in Delhi. As per Delhi CM¡¯s recent announcement, the odd-even scheme will start from November 4 and will be implemented till November 15.?
For those unaware, the odd-even scheme is based on the last digit of a vehicle. When it will be in effect, vehicles with odd digits at the end of their registration numbers can only run on particular days of the week, while those with even digits can only run on alternate days.?

The CM cleared that the odd-even scheme can only be treated as an emergency measure and hence, cannot be implemented for a longer duration.?
This is the third time that the scheme is being implemented in the capital. Interestingly, women drivers have been exempted from the rule this time around. This was not the case last time, when only emergency vehicles were exempted from the odd-even rule.
In addition to the odd-even rule, Delhi government will also be implementing mechanised sweeping in more areas of the capital. Two environment marshals will also be appointed in all wards of Delhi to avoid the burning of garbage during winter.
