Volkswagen is giving people a chance to experience the production of its electric car - the Volkswagen e-Golf. For this, the German car maker has announced a unique program for the visitors of its Transparent Factory in Dresden that includes a tour of the production line of the electric car.
The auto major is calling it the Mach-Mit production experience. With this, visitors to the facility can help with the production of the e-Golf at five different stations in its production line. The visitors will be accompanied by experts from Volkswagen for the experience.
The experience points include the attaching the e-Golf logo, the connection of the powertrain and body called ¡°marriage¡±, the installation of the tail lights on the tailgate and the fitting of the radiator and radiator grille front with the brand logo.
Apart from the production experience, the company focuses on familiarising its potential customers with the idea of electric mobility. Arnd Meyer-Clasen, Head of Sales at Volkswagen says" we are showing customers, visitors and guests what tomorrow's mobility means for Volkswagen.¡±
Jens Schlender, Head of Production at Volkswagen further elaborates, "we are now giving visitors the opportunity to experience electromobility up close and personal - and to put it to work themselves. This experience is something very special in the automotive world."
The Mach-Mit production experience can be booked at www.glaeserne manufaktur.di. As per a release by the company, the tour lasts around 2.5 hours. It takes place from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. and from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.?
Citing the ongoing pandemic, the company follows several precautionary measures for the experience. It has limited the number of participants to a maximum of four visitors per group. It makes sure that adequate distancing and hygiene rules are followed. ¡°The wearing of a mouth and nose protection is obligatory,¡± the post reads.
Through the Mach-Mit production experience at the "Center of Future Mobility," Volkswagen aims to make electric mobility accessible to a broad public. For this reason, the company has been conducting similar tours for the customers of the e-Golf since 2019. Going forward, its plans to offer a similar experience for its upcoming ID.3 electric car starting 2021.
