The list of electric vehicle offerings in India keeps on increasing and recent images, doing the rounds on the Internet. show that Honda might be the next one adding to it.
An electric version of its hatchback ¡®Jazz¡¯ has been spotted on a test drive on Delhi NCR roads. From what can be judged, the electric Jazz might be in the market soon.?
The electric Jazz, spotted recently, is based on the 2nd generation model of the car.
In one of the images, a battery plug-in port is also visible, indicating an electric drivetrain running the car.
Interestingly, the 2nd-gen model of Jazz is going to be discontinued soon, as the company will make way for the all-new Jazz at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show later this year. It is expected that the new Jazz will come in a range of powertrain options: petrol, diesel, all-electric and petrol hybrid.

It is interesting to observe how the top auto makers are looking to build an EV portfolio in the country. With the government pushing the adoption of EVs through subsidies and tax rebates, the idea seems too attractive for the OEMs to miss. Hyundai recently launched its first all-electric SUV in the country - Hyundai Kona.
Similarly, MG Motors, having just entered the Indian market, has already promised an all electric SUV - eZS, to be launched by the end of this year.
