Indian automobile industry¡¯s pursuit of electric vehicles is finally taking shape as the country now has its first ever all-electric motorcycle. Revolt Intellicorp, a recent venture by Micromax brain Rahul Sharma, has unveiled its RV 400 electric motorcycle that is poised to be launched next month and subsequently go on sale.
So what exactly does the country¡¯s first electric motorcycle has to offer? If we go by what the company tells us, the Revolt RV 400 comes with an ARAI-certified range of 156 km. The top speed of the bike has been capped at 85 kmph.
As for its features, the RV 400 is touted to be India¡¯s first AI-powered motorcycle. The company says that the AI system is able to improve the battery performance of the motorcycle in compliance with the riding style of the owner. In addition, it offers bluetooth connectivity that further enables remote operations like starting the motorcycle through a smartphone.

There is yet another way to start the RV 400 and that is through voice commands. And once it is in motion, Revolt has made sure that those making a switch from the petrol-powered motorcycles do not miss a thing. For this, the RV 400 comes with four artificial exhaust sound options to choose from. More sounds might be released later through an OTA update.
The motorcycle looks much like any other IC engine offering in the market, except for the fact that it has no exhaust for obvious reasons. It sports fancy LED headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, an inverted fork at the front and a monoshock one at the rear. The RV 400 comes with disc brakes at both the ends.

As for its model of usage, the bike comes with battery swapping technology. For the same, Revolt will be setting-up multiple charging stations within seven cities in the country.
Revolt will open pre-bookings for the RV 400 on June 25 and those interested can book the electric motorcycle for Rs 1000. Though the company has not revealed the exact price of the motorcycle yet, it is expected to cost somewhere around the Rs 1 lakh mark after the subsidies on it through the FAME-II.
