Ayushmann Khurrana Obliges Producers Amid Disrupted Movie Business, Slashes Fee By Approx Rs 10 Cr
Ever since the pandemic has hit the world, the losses of out-house businesses have increased indefinitely. The one that was affected the most was the entertainment industry.?Now, when things are getting back on track and theatres are scaling well, the artists are being requested to adjust their pay scales.
In the same loop, a recent report suggested Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana stepping up to help meet the needs of producers.?Ayushmann, who was last seen in Anek, usually charged Rs 25 crores for a film but he has now re-structured his remuneration so that the load doesn’t fall on the producer’s pockets or the film’s base expense.?
What's Ayushmann's producer-friendly move?
It is said to be a producer-friendly move by the ‘Dream Girl’ actor where a source in the know was quoted in a report by Pinkvilla, “Such moves help the bigger picture as films need to be made in a cost-effective way across the board and when the film is a hit, the star can end up making more. It is a win-win for everyone.”
Talking more in detail, the report added, “Ayushmann is maintaining his price point of Rs 25 crore as signing fee but he has structured it differently during the pandemic to benefit producers. For films that he has signed during or right after the pandemic, Ayushmann has charged about 15 crores as a signing fee and the remaining 10 crores plus profit share is staggered based on the outcome of the film. This way, he ends up making more if the film is a blockbuster and his producers are also benefited as the entire cost of Ayushmann doesn’t come to them while mounting a project!”

Ayushmann is known to be someone with a heart of gold and that is always seen in the subjects he chooses, poems and songs that he sings and writes, as well as his personal point of view that he projects on social media.?
Recently, Ayushmann reacted to the news of the Gujarati film Chhello Show being selected as the country’s entry to the Oscars 2023 in the Best International Feature category. He tweeted, “Wishing ‘Chhello Show’ all the very best as India’s entry for the Oscars.”
On the professional front, Ayushmann will soon be seen in ‘Doctor G’ opposite Rakul Preet Singh and co-starring Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha. He has also sung a song for this film named, 'O Sweetie Sweetie'. He’ll further be seen in 'Dream Girl 2' opposite Ananya Pandey which is slated to release on Eid 2023.
