Tarla Dalal was an Indian cookbook author, chef, food writer, and host of cooking shows. Her first cookbook, The Pleasures of Vegetarian Cooking, was published in 1974. She currently has more than 100 books published, with over 10 million copies sold. She also maintained the largest website dedicated to Indian food and started a bimonthly magazine called Cooking & More. She had two cooking shows: The Tarla Dalal Show and Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal. Her recipes, which were estimated to have been tried in 120 million Indian homes, were published in about 25 journals.
