A documentary series, Daughters, based on a program organised by Washington DC Jail where the authorities let daughters meet their fathers in jail, is soon making its OTT debut. Daughters OTT release date is August 14, and it will be available on the OTT platform Netflix.

The documentary shows four daughters preparing to meet their fathers through a special program at a DC jail in this moving documentary about the healing power of love. It shows how they reunite with their fathers, who are serving their jail terms.?
The documentary will capture the special moments when, for the first time, these daughters will meet their father, touch them, and dance with them. It is said that some meet their fathers after a gap of 20 years.
Daughters has won several awards for its direction, cinematography, and storyline. The documentary series is made under the direction of Natalie Rae and Angela Patton.?
Angela Patton has been trying to empower black women for years. She is the CEO of Girls for Change, a non-profit organisation. Patton is involved in a number of initiatives for girls, including Date with Dad, which promotes father-daughter interaction in families separated for various reasons. Fathers participate in therapy sessions before the final event, a daddy-daughter dance, in which the men exchange their state-issued clothing for semiformal wear and reunite with their children for a wonderful moment of familial intimacy.

Filmmaker Natalie Rae approached Patton about the Washington DC Jail program on camera after a TEDWomen talk about Date with Dad went viral. Patton also agreed, and after years of filming, Daughters is finally making its OTT debut on Netflix. The documentary will be available online starting August 14.
