The Telugu movie Double iSmart, starring Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, is all set to be released in theaters. The movie will hit theatres in August 2024. But before it gets released on the big screens, there is an update about its OTT release. Isn't that too early? Well, the buzz is that digital rights for the movie have been reportedly sold to an OTT platform. According to media reports, OTT platform Prime Video has acquired the digital rights of Double iSmart.?
According to a report by Koimoi.com, the Telugu film's digital rights have been purchased by Amazon Prime Video. The report quoted an X (former Twitter) post by producer BA Raju¡¯s team that claimed that the digital streaming rights for this Telugu language film have been taken by Prime Video. According to the quoted tweet, the deal was for Rs. 33 crore, which fixed the rights with Prime Video.

The unique look of actor Ram Pothineni has already impressed the fans, as they saw the teaser for Duble iSmart. On July 18, one item from the film was also launched, titled Maar Muntha Chod Chintha, which has sparked controversy.
The song has a phrase that says, "Em Cheddam Antav Mari," which is said to be closely linked with former Telangana CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao. According to media reports, this use of the phrase offended some BRS leaders, and a complaint was filed by Rajitha Reddy, who is a BRS member. The makers of the film were accused of indecently using the sensitive phrase in the complaint.

Double iSmart is a sequel to iSmart Shankar, which was released in 2019. The upcoming movie stars actors like Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in crucial roles.?Other cast members of the film include Kavya Thapar, Bani J, and Getup Srinu, among many others.?
Double iSmart was initially scheduled for release in March of this year, but now it coincides with Independence Day in India, which is August 15th. The film will be released first in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam at theatres. After its theatrical run, it is expected to land on OTT platforms soon.?
