Venturing into a new genre of dystopian sports film, Vikas Bahl popular for writing and directing Kangana Ranaut-led?Queen, made?Ganapath: A Hero Is Born, a film starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon. Bahl not only directed and wrote the film but also took on the role of producer. As per the latest reports, the streaming rights of the film are with Netflix. Hence, the film will be available to watch on the OTT platform.?
While an official OTT release date hasn't been announced as of yet, the film is likely to be released this month in July 2024. The film has originally hit the theatres on October 20, 2023.?
The film should have ideally been released online in mid-December in 2023, adhering to the?eight-week theatrical window observed in Bollywood.?While there was no confirmation on why the movie's release was postponed, rumors suggested that Netflix might have decided not to release the film due to issues with its visual effects and other unspecified standards. However, these claims remain unconfirmed.
Also starring Amitabh Bachchan in a prominent role, the story of Ganapath is set in 2070 AD. The official synopsis of the movie reads, "In a dystopian future, Ganapath, a relentless and skilled vigilante, embarks on a mission to dismantle a powerful criminal empire that has gripped the city in fear, Ganapath becomes a symbol of hope for the oppressed in which leads dark."
