The late actor Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan, made his acting debut with the movie Qala last year. He recently came out with his latest film Friday Night Plan, another OTT project. Along with Medha Rana, Aadhya Anand, and Ninad Kamath playing important roles, Amrith Jayan plays the lead in the film. In the movie, Juhi Chawla Mehta makes a notable cameo.
It has been directed by Vatsal Neelakantan, and made by Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia, and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment. After the trailer sparked a lot of interest, people didn't waste any time seeing the movie and giving their reviews.
One wrote, ¡°#BabilKhan is such a delight to watch. & not because I miss seeing Irrfan Khan on screen or that they look the same. But because of his pensiveness and energy ¡ª it¡¯s so fresh, cool, calm, raw with the same talent + potential of evolution like Irrfan had. #FNP #FridayNightPlan.¡±
A second added,¡±#FridayNightPlan was actually a cute film and I recognised Babil Khan straight away!!! Looks just like his late dad.¡±
?Babil Khan plays the responsible older brother in Friday Night Plan, while Amrith Jayan plays the cheeky younger sibling. The boys decide to go to the city's wildest party when their mother, played by Juhi Chawla Mehta, is gone from the house in an effort to have the time of their life. The audience has given the movie favorable reviews. Irrfan Khan has been missed by fans since they watched the project.
Babil was questioned about if Irrfan's career had any impact on his acting debut in an interview with Film Companion.
He said, "You don¡¯t know you have that passion inside you, you need life experiences to push you toward your passion."
Talking about his father, Babil added, ¡°I used to fear his greatness. As a 16-year-old, when you start realizing you want to do something with your life and your father is already a larger-than-life figure. That¡¯s why it took me so long to confront my own passion, my own desire."
?The actor also had a special message for his father. "I wish you were here to see what I have grown up to be, you left before I could make you proud. That feeling of not being able to show him my work, and not being able to see him smile at what I have become. I am not saying that I have become something, just me as a person."
The movie is currently available on Netflix.
