Families come in all shapes and sizes; some are serene while others are frantic, but we still adore them. Since many years, Bollywood painted an image of a 'perfect' family with almost no problems whatsoever. Interestingly, it underwent a change and soon embraced reality by showing not-so-perfect families.?
You must be familiar with the film Hum Saath Saath Hain, right? A arrangement like that, however, is just not conceivable in the modern world. I refer to everyone being so sanskari and nodding in agreement with what the elders are saying. You could concur that nothing like that would occur right now!
Recently, we saw a movie Gulmohar which had a lot going on (family-wise). From a woman who is fighting to come out of the closet to a man who is doing everything in his power to save his family from falling apart. The film did not portray everything as rosy, but it did demonstrate disagreement and much more, which is the reality isn't it?
Like Gulmohar, there are some other movies that have shown us that grass is not always greener on the other side.
The majority of people seems to like watching this film. It described the terrible reality of two brothers, one struggles to obtain employment while the other is content but finds it difficult to disclose his sexual orientation to his family. Also, it demonstrates the growing gap between a son and his father over time.?

The truth is that movies and shows have always played a significant role in our lives. According to the late Rishi Kapoor, it's the sort of entertainment that people can never get enough of (after sex, hehe!) And it's a known truth that people take movies/shows quite seriously. Individuals frequently draw motivation to work hard or engage in intricacy from films like Dexter and Dangal. Similarly, it's really fantastic how some films depict the harsh realities of life, telling people that everything that appears to be gold is actually only a reflection of the journey we call life.
