Kaiju No. 8 movie, Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, will be released in India sooner than you may have thought, for all of you anime aficionados. The movie has separate release dates around the world and starts in Japan on March 28 for a three-week run. To give you some background, the original series is composed by Ichiro Okouchi, and the Kaiju No. 8 TV anime is directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya at the animation company Production I.G. As per Crunchyroll, Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon will be released in Indian theaters on April 11, 2025.
A brief summary of the first season of Kaiju No. 8 will be included in the Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon omnibus, which will then be followed by a brand-new, original episode called Hoshina's Day Off. Invincible, OneRepublic's new ending theme song, will also make its debut in the film.
To give you more clarity, Kafka Hibino is a monster removal worker in a Kaiju-filled Japan. He resolves to follow his dormant goal of joining the Force after reconciling with his childhood friend Mina Ashiro, a rising star in the anti-Kaiju Defense Force... until he unexpectedly changes into the formidable Kaiju No. 8. Kafka conceals his identity with the assistance of his junior coworker Reno Ichikawa while he works toward his lifelong goal of passing the Defense Force exam and joining Mina.
Production I.G.'s adaptation of an anime television series ran from April to June 2024, with a second season scheduled to debut in July 2025. A future video game, two spin-off manga series, and a light novel have all been inspired by the series.
