The latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8 featured the two thespian divas of Bollywood who ruled the 70s and 80s. Neetu Singh Kapoor and Zeenat Aman added a touch of sophistication and old world charm with their anecdotes, untold stories and experienced take on showbiz.
During the interesting chat, host Karan Johar couldn¡¯t help but quiz Neetu Kapoor about her marriage to Rishi Kapoor who had a different temperament. The Jugjugg Jeeyo actress did not take a diplomatic route while answering and revealed that her husband was indeed strict with his family.
She even shared how their equation was during the early dating years, adding that he would never let her party.
She went on to say that she never got the taste of the film industry¡¯s wild side, "We had a fabulous time, especially with Yash ji (Chopra). We would party in the night, play antakshari, and play dumb charades. So, that was like one picnic. That was really-really fun.¡±
However, she had a? strict mother and boyfriend, which is why she never went to crazy parties.?
¡°But I had this Rishi Kapoor as my boyfriend. So, I never partied-partied. Because he was always like, yeh nahi karna, woh nahi karna, ghar aajao (don't do this, don't do that, come home). So, I¡¯ve never seen that wild side of partying in those days¡±.
KJo asked her about the time that she spent with Rishi Kapoor in New York when he was undergoing treatment. Neetu had an interesting take on it? - while she admitted it was a sad phase it was also that very time when Rishi let go of his inhibitions.?
¡°So Karan for me, I don't like to remember the sad part. I like to remember the good part of our relationship and of our time in New York. So New York was really sad, but we had the best year, I had the best year of my life.¡±
She added, "Because you know Chintu Ji (Rishi Kapoor) is a very loving person. He had a lot of love in him. But there was something he never really showed his love. He always kept his distance and bullying people, not show his love. Especially with me and my children, he was like a big thing. Respect and all and with that he lost out on a lot with his children. He was never a friend to them."
She further said, ¡°But that year, he opened up. He showed love, went towards me also he was so lovely. We had the best time.¡±
