Kohrra Season 2: With its highly anticipated second season, Kohrra, a favorite for both you and me, is set to keep us captivated once again. After much anticipation, Netflix is finally bringing back the gripping thriller that left audiences on the edge of their seats. The excitement soared when Kohrra Season 2 was officially announced in Mumbai as part of Netflix¡¯s upcoming slate, heightening fans¡¯ eagerness for its return. Barun Sobti, the show¡¯s lead, had reflected on the overwhelming love he received for the first season and weighed in on the burning topic i.e. OTT censorship.
The debate around censorship in the streaming space has been ongoing, with strong opinions on both sides. In an exclusive interview with IndiaTimes, Barun shared his perspective on the controversy a year ago. Here¡¯s what he had to say.
In the web series Kohrra, we witnessed Barun acting out a passionate sequence that unquestionably added a lot of complexity to the plot. We therefore questioned him about his opinion on the need for OTT censorship due to language, sexual content, and nudity.??
He said, ¡°I think this question should be answered with a question. What does censorship do on OTT? What are we trying to prevent? I think there is no answer. What is it going to be? Abuses? The first thing that comes to my mind is that people think that kids below 18 can get affected. Then I'm sorry it is not my responsibility to take care of your kids, it's yours. Especially given the fact that all the platforms have different profiles for children and adults so you have to invigilate that.?
We saw Barun perform a passionate scene in the web series Kohrra, which definitely made the plot more intricate. Therefore, we asked him if he thought that OTT should be censored because of its language, sexual nature, and nudity.??
He went on to add that he feels that kids are not meant to be in the adult space. He suggested that if so is happening then parents are probably not keeping a good eye.
