Mohanlal's fantasy drama "Malaikottai Vaaliban," which debuted lately, is about to make its OTT debut. The movie opened in theaters on January 25, 2024. Reviews for Malaikottai Vaaliban from critics and viewers were mixed.
The epic film Malaikottai Vaaliban, which is set in Malayalam, centers on the life of legendary fighter Vaaliban and his struggles against numerous foes in the name of honor, humanity, and masculine ego. In the film, Mohanlal plays two roles. The remaining cast members are Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manikandan R. Achari, and Manoj Moses, among others.

Mohanlal stated in an interview with ManoramaNews.com, ¡°It caters to both mass cinema enthusiasts and those seeking a more serious, spiritual cinematic experience. It encompasses a philosophy too.¡±
He added, ¡°The final verdict lies with audiences.¡± Mohanlal pointed out that Malaikottai Vaaliban has been approached with a Western film style. ¡°Its music, colour patterns, situations, and actions will be entirely novel to the Malayalam film industry."
Speaking about his directorial debut Barroz, Mohanlal said, ¡°The majority of the re-recording has been finished in Los Angeles, USA. Currently, the remaining tasks are underway in Budapest, Hungary. Special effects will be handled in India and Thailand. Most other aspects of the movie are now complete, and we are aiming for a December release this year.¡±
Malaikottai Vaaliban, a period drama penned by PS Rafeeque and financed by Shibu Baby John for John & Mary Creative, in addition to Century Films, Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, and Amen Movie Monastery, is purported to be historical. The film is being edited by Deepu S Joseph, while Prashant Pillai wrote the lyrics and Madhu Neelakandan is in charge of the cinematography. The movie's costumes were designed by Ronex Xavier.
