According to Netflix, at the core of Melo Movie is the rekindled romance between Ko Gyeom, played by Choi Woo Shik, and Kim Mubee, portrayed by Park Bo-young. The two were once drawn to each other, but a past incident drove them apart.
Years later, fate brings them back together when Gyeom moves in next door to Mubee. As they're forced to confront their old wounds and lingering feelings, the spark between them is reignited, despite the doubt and anger caused by past betrayals.

Choi Woo Shik, meanwhile, gave off major green flag energy with the heartwarming drama Our Beloved Summer.
Melo Movie has a talented team behind it, including director Oh Choong-hwan, who brought magic to Hotel del Luna and Start-Up, and writer Lee Na-eun, known for Our Beloved Summer. As they come with extensive experience for this new drama, it'd be intriguing to see how they capture the ups and downs of young love.
Talking about the drama, director Oh shared, ¡°[The drama] not only depicts the beautiful moments of youth, but it is also a project that discusses each [character's] deficiency and trauma. That is why while reading the script, there were many moments I looked back on my past and present.¡±
Screenwriter Lee Na Eun stated, ¡°Melo Movie depicts the reality and upcoming future of youth who dream of a movie-like life. Everyone experiences a movie-like dream and hardship at least once in their lives, and I included the support and comfort that I wanted to convey to those people at those times.¡±
The fairytale romance is captivating, but it's the imperfections and flaws that make it truly relatable. The reunion of the two leads, complicated by past conflicts and lingering emotions, is expcted to make it a raw, real, and compelling watch.?
At the press conference, Director Oh Choong Hwan highlighted that the drama also explores the theme of family, with Kim Jae Wook playing Ko Gyeom's older brother Ko Jun and Go Chang Suk portraying Kim Mu Bee's father. The director noted that the family relationships and dynamics between these characters will be a key aspect to watch out for in the drama.
TXT's Taehyun and Hueningkai are set to release a romantic OST for the drama on February 14th at 6 PM KST. Titled Surfing in the Moonlight, the song, a soothing bedroom pop track, will transport listeners to a dreamy world where two people share a magical moment under the moonlight.?
