After 28 years, the much awaited 71st Miss World pageant is set to take place in India. The month-long "Beauty with a Purpose" event, which kicked off on February 20 with an opening ceremony, is about to reach its last leg with an incredible grand finale. The winner of Femina Miss India World 2022, Sini Shetty, will represent India with pride at the prestigious pageant, which will include competitors from 120 different countries.??

Official celebrations began on February 20 at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi with 'The Opening Ceremony' and 'India Welcomes the World Gala' events organized by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). On February 20, the Miss World opening ceremony was broadcast live on missworld.com. The eagerly awaited 71st Miss World Global Finale is scheduled to take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai and like the opening ceremony will stream on missworld.com.
Talking to ANI, she said, "I'm simply excited, and it's wonderful that so many girls will come to India and talk about it and experience our hospitality, just as India will also get to experience what I did six years ago when I attended a competition like this. They will be posting about their experiences on their social media handles. They have a great fan following so those people will also come to know about it. Their families and team will also be coming. So, there will be exposure at the same time for many countries."
For the unversed, India has given the world six Miss World winners in the past, including Aishwarya Rai (1994), Rita Faria (1966), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mukhi (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).
