One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has revealed plans to take more pauses from the series, which has worried the devoted fan base as the show continues to enthrall viewers worldwide. Oda has given an explanation for his decision. Fans are left wondering what this shift would signify for the eagerly awaited finale of the legendary journey as One Piece moves into its final arc.?
To give you some context, One Piece took a six-month hiatus, which allowed the creators and artists to work on the show and improve the quality of the episodes. Days after the break ended, we now learn that Oda will undoubtedly take further breaks. According to Games Rant, Oda releases three chapters in a row, takes a two-week hiatus, and then releases three more. Oda occasionally takes more pauses, but this cycle nevertheless goes on. As observed recently, Oda occasionally even takes month-long pauses for a variety of reasons.
There will be more breaks because of Oda's health, which makes sense, doesn't it? Therefore it is not surprising that he is taking more pauses considering the issues he has experienced and the surgical procedures he has had.
During his interview with Gosho Aoyama, Oda said ※Until now, I have been aware readers often get disappointed if &ONE PIECE* doesn*t publish a new chapter, and I felt responsible for that.§
Eiichiro Oda shared that things have changed recently, thanks to a new generation of younger writers at Shonen Jump who support him even during his breaks. Their encouragement has lifted a significant burden off his shoulders. He explained that this shift in atmosphere has also led him to stop worrying about competing with other manga series. For Oda, it now feels like he finally has the freedom to engage with his fans at his own pace.
Despite the breaks, One Piece continues to keep its fans hooked, proving that even with pauses in the release schedule, the series doesn't lose its momentum. While Oda taking more time off may lead to longer waits between chapters, it*s unlikely to impact the fanbase*s dedication, they'll simply have to be a bit more patient for each new installment.
