Surviving Black Hawk Down OTT release date: Netflix has authorised a documentary series based on the 2001 blockbuster Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott. It follows the true account of the horror and bravery that surrounded the events that served as the inspiration for Scott's film, Surviving Black Hawk Down. Surviving Black Hawk Down will be released on Netflix on 10th Feb 2025.
By putting the camera on the actual soldiers and Somali people who survived the Battle of Mogadishu, the new documentary series Surviving Black Hawk Down gives them the opportunity to describe the events in their own words. With interviews, reenactments, and startling footage shot on the ground prior to, during, and following the violence, the series which was produced by Ridley Scott Associates and directed by Jack MacInnes offers a complex look at a day that profoundly altered the lives of all those involved.
In the three-part documentary series, members of Delta Force and the Army Rangers, the special operation groups that collaborated on Oct. 3, 1993, are interviewed. Also featured throughout are Mogadishu residents, such as militiamen who resisted US forces, local women who were stranded in a conflict zone with nowhere to hide, and a former party photographer who became a war documentarian after feeling compelled to bring his camera to the front lines because he felt a personal obligation to document the reality of what was happening to his home.
