The TV show Tenali Rama, which is based on the life of Telugu poet and scholar Tenali Ramakrishna, has been renewed for a new season. The show aired on television from 2017 to 2020. Now, after its success on TV, the makers have renewed the series as a new season for OTT. With Krishna Bharadwaj in one of the lead roles, the show will be released on platform SonyLIV. Channel SonySAB has posted a promo clip of the show while making the official announcement, which left its followers excited. Though the date for its OTT debut has not been announced, it is expected to be out by this December.?
SonySAB while sharing its promo on social media platform Instagram, the makers wrote, "Jab dushmano ka saaya Vijayanagar par mandrayega, buddhi ka bal dikha kar Tenali Rama kaise usse bachayega? Jald dekhiye, Tenali Rama ke naye episodes iss December sirf SonySAB par."
Tenali Rama is a comedy drama based on the life of the famed Telugu poet Tenali Ramakrishna, one of the Ashtadiggajas, or the eight honourable poets at the court of Vijayanagara emperor Krishnadevaraya, who is widely regarded as the greatest Vijayanagara ruler.
The lead actor of the show, Krishna Bhardwaj recently mentioned that Tenali Ramakrishna is one of India's finest scholars from a golden age.?
He added, "His journey will also mirror today¡¯s issues like justice, equality, and power struggles, showcasing his relevance to modern India, albeit in a fun manner."
Abhimanyu Singh produced the show. It was produced under the label Contiloe Entertainment. The plot made a 9-month leap in 2018, then a 6-year leap in August 2019, a 20-year leap, and a 4-month leap in February 2020.
The series' filming was halted for four months during the COVID-19 epidemic, but it was eventually completed in November 2020. This sitcom was superseded by another Contiloe Entertainment production, Kaatelal & Sons.
