A lot of people have criticised The Crown's fifth season for its "sad" portrayal of Prince William. Season five will feature a young William, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, and the Duke of Cornwall.
Prince William is shown in the new series as unhappy and melancholy. A royal scholar named Richard Fitzwilliams told many media that people watching The Crown should remember that William did have happy moments as well, even in the 1990s.
As reported by Economic Times, Richard Fitzwilliams said that while many of the events depicted in The Crown Season 5 were genuinely heartbreaking, they should certainly also show how much the young prince was loved. The royal expert mentioned that William is apparently portrayed as sad, dejected, and unsatisfied in the fifth season.
Princess Diana, according to Richard Fitzwilliams, was more carefree than Prince Charles because she favoured going to the movies, skiing, or, most importantly, amusement parks. In spite of extremely challenging circumstances, Prince William's late mother wanted both of her sons to grow up as normally as they could.?
Buckingham Palace apparently declared that the popular series is a "drama, not a documentary" after the news of Season 5 surfaced.?
As per the expectation, one can expect the time between 1992, when Charles announced his separation from Diana, and 1996, when their divorce became final, said to be the subject of the future season.Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana is shown getting ready for television interviews about their troubled marriage in the first trailer for the series. Rumour has it that this is a recounting of Charles' 1994 conversation with Jonathan Dimbleby, during which he acknowledged having a relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles at the time.
Some have criticised the series for lacking historical accuracy, despite the fact that it has gained high recognition for its dramatic characteristics.
