The Last Of Us Season Finale: Mystery Behind Ellie’s Immunity Revealed In A Devastating Episode

We finished what we started!

At least temporarily, we have reached the end of the journey. The last episode of The Last of Us concludes the first game's narrative and marks the end of the recent season.

“So time heals all the wounds I guess.”

In addition to going back in time in Episode 9 to explain why the girl is immune to the Cordyceps virus, the season finale of The Last of Us foreshadows a bleak future for Joel and Ellie. In addition, Anna, Ellie's mother, who was previously friends with Fireflies leader Marlene, is introduced to us all in this flashback.

As the episode opens, it's unclear where we are, when it is, or who the pregnant woman in difficulty is; however, everything soon becomes obvious.Who was it? It was baby Ellie.

At first, though, it doesn't seem like Ellie will survive to see the world. As an unseen Infected pounds on the door, Hannah flees to a room . She closes the door with a chair, clutches her stomach, and whips out a switchblade. Shortly after setting up the barricade, Hannah gives birth.

After the credits, the flashback continues, revealing additional information about Ellie and her mother as well as their relationship with Marlene.

Hannah urges Marlene to kill her so she won't become infected. After worrying that she can't grant either desire, Marlene grants them both. Ellie sobs when she hears the gunshot.

The scene shifts to a somber, troubled-looking Ellie in the present at that point in the programme. Joel soon discovered a can of Beefaroni and a pack of Boggle cards that appeared to be in good condition. Ellie nods and smiles, but she falls short of Joel's cheery demeanor.

As soon as they reach the town, they begin their usual process of locating a high point and planning a course that will allow them to avoid the ruins.?

They leave the field and begin to walk towards the hospital via the ruins of the army emergency camp.?

They are taken down by a stun grenade after being attacked by an armored patrol. Once the screen fades to white, Joel is greeted by a well-known logo and Marlene's welcoming words, "Welcome to the Fireflies." They've arrived at their final stop. Joel is only concerned about one thing: Ellie.

Marlene initially avoids talking about it, telling Joel she's alright and mostly worried about him, before expressing gratitude for what the two of them have achieved. Marlene ultimately tells the entire tale: It really does seem as though Ellie's peculiar biology will offer a remedy for the cordyceps infection. She is mistaken for one of the Infected, but they should be able to provide a cure following a surgery. But doing that will require removing Ellie's brain first. Everybody will be saved, but she will die.

Even though Marlene admits her extensive relationship with Ellie, Joel still does not see this to be a workable solution. Once Ellie has been put to sleep in the operating room, he discovers her. Later, Marlene finds Joel holding Ellie and urges him to release her. Yet Joel being Joel, admitted to Ellie that he had killed Marlene as they fled to safety.

Ellie confesses her worst experience with Joel, informing him about the first time she killed someone, which she had previously refrained from talking about.

The episode ends abruptly as Ellie asks Joel if whatever he has told her about Fireflies is true and he says yes.
