Netflix has been expanding the type of content it gives out to its subscribers. The streaming giant is coming with a Japanese Wrestling series called The Queen of Villains and its OTT release date is also set. The Netflix original biographical drama series is based on the career of female wrestler Dump Matsumoto. The Queen of Villains will be released on Netflix on 19th September 2024. Announcing the show, the streaming platform wrote on its social media platforms, ¡°In the 1980s, Dump Matsumoto took on all of Japan as the most terrifying heel in women's pro wrestling. This is her untold story.? The Queen of Villains premieres on September 19.¡±
It narrates the tale of 1980s-famous professional female wrestler Dump Matsumoto. Dump Matsumoto had a dream as a young lady to become a professional wrestler. As per the synopsis, ¡°She got fired from her job and makes the fateful decision to perform as an evil character.¡±
In All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling during the 1980s, the adored Japanese female wrestler initially gained recognition. In her role as a heel (villain), she led the Atrocious Alliance stable, which included Bull Nakano, Condor Saito, and Crane Yu, and terrified the female roster.
Yuriyan Retriever will be portraying the role of Dump Matsumoto. Karata Erika will feature as Nagayo Chigusa. Gouriki Ayame will portray Lioness Asuka. To create this semi-autobiographical drama, producer, writer, and developer Osamu Suzuki teamed up with supervising director Kazuya Shiraishi.
