What follows is an emotional journey more than a horror story, one that quietly explores love, loss, identity, and how we deal with change that scares us.
Directed by Ry身hei Takeshita (of Jujutsu Kaisen fame), the anime promises to stay true to the manga＊s quiet emotional depth. With character designs by Y迂ichi Takahashi and hauntingly beautiful artwork by Kohei Honda, the series will visually reflect the calm and creepiness of a small town where something just isn＊t right. Chiaki Kobayashi, who＊s playing Yoshiki in this one, shared in a media statement, "I'm thrilled to voice Yoshiki. From the audition, I felt a whirlwind of emotions 〞 fear, comfort, and uncertainty. My goal was to capture all of Yoshiki＊s feelings and melancholy." Shuichiro Umeda, voicing Hikaru, added, "Playing Hikaru was like peering into darkness. Despite uncertainties, my desire to stay connected with Yoshiki was clear, and I approached the role with that strong feeling."
