Aamir Khan¡¯s next movie is a remake of 1994 classic Forrest Gump, the original film that starred Tom Hanks in the lead role. Titled Laal Singh Chaddha, it is said that the movie will be based on 1984 Anti Sikh Riots. Earlier, it was being said that the movie will be based on Babri Masjid demolition.
The 1984 anti-Sikh riots killed more than 3000 Sikhs in Delhi and about 8000 people across the entire nation. Also known as 1984 Sikh Massacre, the riots were a series of organised programs by anti-Sikh mobs against the Sikhs community post the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by Sikh bodyguards.

The movie is being produced by Aamir Khan productions and Viacom 18. Advait Chandan, who has previously directed Aamir Khan in Secret Superstar, is directing the movie.
