Laila Majnu To Animal, Tripti Dimri's Journey To Becoming Everyone's Favourite Is Heartwarming

Soon after Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal arrived in theatres, Tripti came out as a surprise package and stunned everyone. Well, those who have followed her work for long know that she isn’t new at leaving everyone stunned but with just six films in her kitty, Tripti has emerged as one of the most promising leading ladies of showbiz.

The 29-year-old actress made her debut with Sridevi’s Mom in 2017 but her breakthrough performance arrived a year later with Laila Majnu. Tripti with her mesmerising beauty and impeccable performance earned a place in everyone’s heart. 2 years later, Tripti arrived with Bulbbul and her success shot to the sky.

Anvita Dutt’s Bulbbul paid Tripti her due recognition and she again starred in the filmmaker’s psychological drama Qala only to leave us stunned again.

Qala arrived last year and like her every other movie, showered Tripti with massive praises and a nomination for Best Actress in a Web Original Film at the Filmfare OTT Awards. For the unversed, Tripti in fact won an OTT Filmfare Award back in 2020 for her performance in Bulbbul.

Cut to 2023, Tripti is on everybody’s mind after playing Zoya in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal.

Now, the entire internet is talking about how in a limited screen time, she left an everlasting impression. Tripti’s character in the movie is a mole who was sent to Ranbir by his enemies to know everything about him and his plans. The highlight remains her intimate scenes with Ranbir which the internet cannot stop talking about.

But success didn’t arrive at Tripti that soon despite giving such critically acclaimed movies.

Recalling that after Laila Majnu she was expecting fans and work, she received nothing. Tripti once told Gulf News, “A week before ‘Laila Majnu’ released, I was in the vegetable market thinking that after its release I would become so popular that I won’t be able to buy vegetables because fans would recognise me. But nothing happened and nobody spoke about the film. I waited for six or seven months and no offers came along for a long time.”
