Siddharth Anand Answers If 'Fighter' Is Inspired By 'Top Gun'; Hrithik Roshan's Film Banned In Gulf
One of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year is Fighter. Hrithik Roshan plays an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer in the film. Many people had compared the Siddharth Anand picture to the Tom Cruise movie series Top Gun when the first glimpse of the movie was released a few weeks ago. Siddharth Anand has now addressed the responses, saying in an interview with Zoom that it "was inevitable" and urging viewers to see Indian films with greater "respect."?
"We need to start looking at our films with a little bit more respect", Says Siddharth Anand
He told Zoom, ?"I think it is inevitable. As a filmmaker, you have to be prepared that if you make a film on planes they will call it Top Gun because they have no reference point so they believe that we are not so creative, that we will do things that are a rip-off. We need to start looking at our films with a little bit more respect and not constantly believe that things are being ripped off. People do get inspired, even in the West, by content that is created in the East.¡±
He added, "I have many instances where¡ lately also where I did some sequences and those sequences were similar to a film that came out later, a very very big franchise film in the West. I am not saying they copied us. There's no way they would copy us, so let's be real. There are only that many things you can do in action and there will be overlaps. You just got to do it with an X factor that makes it different. The Top Gun comparisons will be beaten to dust in the first 5 minutes," he said.
Hrithik Roshan's Fighter Banned In Gulf
?"Fighter," starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, appears to have been banned in the Gulf states a few days before its official release. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai and producer-film specialist Girish Johar claim that the movie has not been allowed to be released in any of the Gulf nations. As per Indiatoday, for the time being, the UAE is an exception.

During the same conversation, he expressed his belief that songs have similar notes. For example, you might have a song with comparable notes and progressions that isn't inspired. The director continued by humming the Student of the Year song "Radha" and remarked that the "scanning is very similar'" to "Jai Jai Shiv Shankar" from Aap Ki Kasam.
