Padmaavat became the eye of the storm since the time it was announced. From Sanjay Leela Bhansali being assaulted on the sets of his own film to his sets being set on fire, there were a lot of hurdles in the way of Padmaavat¡¯s release. The Rajput Karni Sena threatened the makers to not release the movie because of their apprehensions that the movie distorts history. The release date of the movie was pushed and the title was also changed from Padmavati to Padmaavat. After crossing a lot of hurdles, the movie finally hit the screens and it roared success at the box office. Not only the critics praised it but audiences loved it too. Ranveer Singh¡¯s performance was hailed as his best so far.

The recently released Sanju is another movie that one can¡¯t simply miss to watch. Rajkumar Hirani, as people say is the best storyteller in Bollywood, has proved his skills yet again. With wit and humour, he remarkably narrated the chaotic story of Sanjay Dutt. From his drug addiction to his alleged involvement in 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, people were left stunned knowing the story of the Bollywood star. However, some people thought that the biopic was an attempt to whitewash the image of Sanjay Dutt. Despite that, people loved the masterpiece it is.

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi is a gripping story about a Kashmiri spy who agrees to marry a Pakistani army officer to spy on the neighbouring country during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Not even at one point in the two-hour eighteen-minute long movie, you feel bored. The story and narration is so good that it keeps you intrigued. Based on Harinder S. Sikka¡¯s 2008 novel Calling Sehmat, which is inspired from true incidents, the spy-thriller will keep you on the edge of the seats. It¡¯s also a roller coaster ride full of emotions.

After Pyaar Ka Punchnama and its sequel, Luv Ranjan is back with yet another men vs women film. Despite the fact that some people claimed that the movie is full of gender stereotyping and misogyny, it is unquestionably hilarious. In the battle of sexes, the Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh Nijjar starrer runs on the frat-boy logic that bros come before hoes. It¡¯s bigger and better in comparison to Pyaar Ka Punchnama. If you are looking forward to a laughter riot, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is the movie you should watch; perhaps, over and over again
Also, the movie gave Kartik Aryan the deserved recognition in the industry. So much so, that it is said that he hiked his fee thereafter. He hosted IIFA Rocks and has already bagged another film Lukka Chuppi alongside Kriti Sanon.

To break the taboo surround menstruation, Akshay Kumar starrer Padman was an attempt to shed the stigma surrounding periods and inform women about menstruation hygiene. The movie was the first one to be screened at Oxford Union. What¡¯s more? The movie is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu, who invented low-cost sanitary pads and shed light on the importance of it. It does not glorify Akshay Kumar, who is playing the lead role, as saviour superhero. Instead, it talks about the issues such as women¡¯s hygiene. The movie definitely prompted a conversation on the subject period.

Based on 1998 Pokhran nuclear tests, John Abraham starrer Pramanu brings forward a forgotten chapter from Indian history to the forefront. If you want to revisit the history through cinema, this one is a must watch for you. People say that facts and fiction are mixed in order to whip the patriotic fervour. It showcases how nuclear power can be used to ensure security as well as peace for the nation. With equal amounts of patriotism, humour and emotions, it is said that script of the film is what makes it a good movie. The story is intriguing and at no point you will feel bored.

It¡¯s an ¨Cit-happened-on-that-night movie, which narrates the story of man who hasn¡¯t touched tobacco and alcohol in his life but is detected with stomach cancer. Now as he tries all the vices in his last month, he suddenly starts to crave to live. The movie is fun in bits and pieces.

Baaghi was a great success at the box office and people who love action films, loved the Tiger Shroff starrer movie. So much so, that even before Baaghi 2 was released, the makers announced Baaghi 3. They were confident that the movie will do a great business at the box office and cinema buffs will love it, and that¡¯s exactly what happened. The movie did a great business but it¡¯s not the kind of film that will strike a chord will all types of movie buffs. It¡¯s a story about a battle-hardened army officer who fights against the drug lord and Russian henchman to save the kidnapped daughter of his former lover. For fans of action genre, Baaghi 2 is a feast.
