The story of Pippa is based on the life of Captain Balram Singh Mehta of India's 45 Cavalry regiment, who fought on the eastern front in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War with his siblings. Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur, and Priyanshu Painyuli play the main parts.
?The movie is based on the Indian Army's successful Operation Vijay, which was started in May 1999 to drive away Pakistani intruders from the Indian side of the Line of Control after they had invaded and occupied critical heights in the Kargil area. It stars Sanjay Dutt and others.
