Sonu Nigam And Azaan Controversy Leads To An Ugly Knife Fight Between Two Men In Ujjain

Sonu Nigam’s tweets have sparked off a controversy that we don’t see ending anytime soon. Sonu Nigam chose to express his personal views on how Azaan on loudspeakers leads to noise pollution and his tweets like always didn’t go down too well with a lot of people.

Even though the debate and controversy blew up into a religious debate, what happened yesterday was shocking.

According to reports, an ugly disagreement between two people over Sonu Nigam’s tweets lead to a violent fight between both, following which one of them stabbed the other.

This incident happened on Wednesday in Gopalpura region in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district. If reports are to be believed the heated argument occurred between Shivam Rai, who supported the playback singer's stand on Facebook. To extend his support to his favourite singer Sonu Nigam, he posted on FB but this offended the accused, Mohammad Nagori and Faizan Khan.

And what followed was a heated argument between the three. A Hindustan Times report quoted Rai saying,

"Later, they asked me to meet them in Freeganj area. When I reached there with my friend, Ayush Shreewas, they attacked us with knives.”

Even though Rai managed to escape, his friend?has been hospitalized due to injury. A case of attempted murder against the accused under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code has been filed by the police.?
