After receiving abusive and threatening calls from an unknown person for the past one month, Udit Narayan has finally sought the help of the anti-extortion cell (AEC) of the Mumbai crime branch.
Reports claim that the police haven't registered an FIR (First Information Report) but the calls that have been traced have been made from a stolen phone, which has been traced to Bihar. Udit Narayan received three calls from the same number, according to an AEC officer.?
The first call came around a month ago, while the second and third came on July 17 and July 23, respectively. The caller, who identified himself as Laxman confessed that he knows even intricate details of the singer.?
Upon investigation, the police figured that the number was registered in the name of the security guard of Narayan's building. After the watchman was quizzed,he revealed that his mobile was stolen three months ago during a train journey to his hometown in Bihar.
Police officers are assuming that either the person must have stolen the phone or found it somewhere.
