19 years ago, Dia Mirza and R Madhavan starred in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein,?and?their dysfunctional and twisted love-affair onscreen made people fall in love with their characters-Reena and Maddy.?
Even after two decades, Dia and Madhavan continue to remain friends who occasionally discuss their lives, mutual love & admiration for each other and how much they love nature.?
To give fans a closer look at their friendship and what they actually bond over on, Dia invited Maddy for her latest Instagram live session.For many who don't know, Maddy himself is a well-known proponent of animal rights and environmental protection.
In her latest Instagram live #DownToEarthWithDee, Dia chatted with Madhavan who is not just her first co-star but he's a friend she loves to have in her life!?Their video-call reunion was special for reasons more than one.?They bonded and giggled talking about their similar childhood experience of climbing trees and enjoying freshly plucked fruits.??

1. Talking about their mutual fondness and admiration, Dia had a special introduction for Maddy.
¡°Maddy is very special. Along with being an amazing artist, he is an incredible human being with whom I share a strong love for nature,¡± Dia said while introducing him.
2. Madhavan and Dia expressed how overwhelmed they feel each day to wake up to fan messages about?Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.?
Dia said, ¡°I know people have been dying to see us on screen. It has been over 19 years and somehow I¡¯m still inundated with songs, scenes, and dialogues from the film every day on my social media,¡±?
3. Fans have been demanding sequel or a spin-off to the film. Dia finally addressed all the rumors and requests.
Dia said, ¡°We are doing our best to make it happen, but we will only work together when we can give our best. There is something so special about Reena and Maddy and I think there was an innocence and honesty we shared in RHTDM that resonates so deeply with everyone even today. We wouldn¡¯t want to dilute that in any way.¡±?
4. Maddy went on to talk about having his roots from Jamshedpur and how he had the best childhood anybody could have.?
He added,¡°When you¡¯re in a small town, one of the things that you become part of is nature - the geography of the place, the flora and fauna, it all becomes part of your upbringing. You learn to respect things depending on how people around you react to it. You are aware of everybody and everything around you, unlike in a big metropolis."?
5. Dia, like a true-buddy, told fans about Madhavan¡¯s urban farm at his home?
She added that he has been many to follow in his footsteps and lead healthier lifestyles.
6. Maddy went on to talk about how COVID-19 has been an equalizer.?
Maddy said, ¡°I think the COVID era has made everybody take a deeper look at themselves, more than anything else. A lot of priorities are becoming clearer as we go along, and I think one of the things that everybody is realizing is how important it is to be in touch with who you really are, what really makes sense. Without a doubt, it doesn¡¯t matter which community or religion you belong to, because eventually, you have to be one with nature to be at peace.¡±?
7. The lovely conversation (which fans never wanted to end) concluded with both the actors urging everyone to be more compassionate.
Maddy said,?¡°It¡¯s going to be a very changed world when we all get out there and we¡¯re all going to come from a place of stress, insecurities, and fears. One thing that is necessary and most welcome is an abundance of compassion and understanding."
