Ali Fazal’s birthday: From Fukrey to parenthood, here’s his love story with Richa Chadha

Today marks Ali Fazal's 38th birthday. The actor is well-known for his parts in the movie Fukrey and his portrayal of "guddu bhaiya" in Mirzapur went viral when the show debuted a few years ago. Fukrey not only solidified his career as an actor but also aided in his discovery of his true love, Richa Chadha. Today, on the actor’s birthday, let's take a look at their beautiful love story.

Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha’s love story

After the two got to know each other on the sets of Fukrey in 2012, their romance grew. In the Maldives in 2019, nearly four years after they first started dating, Ali proposed to Richa, and she said a massive yes. Although the wedding was scheduled for April 2020, the coronavirus pandemic forced a postponement.

In 2020, Richa acknowledged in an interview with Bride's Today that she was the first to tell Fazal about her feelings. She remembered watching Chaplin, the 1992 biographical comedy, at home and Ali liked the film too, so she was happy to know that they have a similar interest.

Richa and Ali’s interfaith marriage

Talking to Galatta India, Richa had spoken about her interfaith marriage and said that you fall in love with a human being.

She added,? “If you stand firm with your choice and your immediate family is with you and supportive of you, nobody else really matters. And like I said, a human being is a human being first and when you go and fall in love, your search has no filters on. When you fall in love, that’s what it is.”

?On October 4, 2022, Ali and Richa tied the knot. They welcomed their baby girl, earlier this year on July 16, 2024.

For the unversed, Richa and Ali have starred in two films together and they are Fukrey and Fukrey Returns.
