Sushant Singh Rajput¡¯s sudden demise left the world shocked and his friends devastated. The actor¡¯s Kai Po Che co-star Amit Sadh was one of them. The duo¡¯s movie was released in 2013 and was a box-office hit. Kai Po Che still stands tall as one of the finest performances of Sushant.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Amit shared, ¡°I was not feeling guilty. But there was no way to reach him and I was feeling frustrated. My disappointment was that there was no way to reach him and that also did affect me. Then I realised that you have to be more alert now.¡±
Amit added, ¡°Now if my friends don¡¯t call me for five to six months, I check on them and I directly reach their home. I think we should all do that. This kind of thing should not happen again. We can be nicer to each other, I just feel that. As an industry we are a family, we might fight, but whatever happens in the industry, should remain in the industry.¡±
¡°I just feel that the industry should get more agility, there should be more solidarity. Otherwise, there are amazing people.¡±
In a podcast with author Chetan Bhagat, Amit revealed, ¡°For me, anyone who talks about him, it¡¯s a hit on my head. I spent one and a half years with me. I got so affected, that I wanted to quit the industry. When the news came, I closed myself. My show was coming, so I called them and said that I didn¡¯t want to do any promotions.¡±
¡°I didn¡¯t tell anyone but I have tried committing suicide four times between the age of 16 and 18 so I know the mindset. Though life has changed now everything is good. I went inside a dark hole. I know the psyche of a person, when a person takes such a drastic decision, when it¡¯s entirely dark in his/her life. But the person is not at fault, it¡¯s the society¡¯s fault and all those who are around that person.¡±
