Ever since the first look of Amitabh Bachchan from sci-fi dystopian film?Kalki 2898 AD has been released, fans are eagerly waiting for the film's release which stars also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. In the film, Big B plays the role of immortal Ashwathama.?
In the teaser, a young girl asks the man whose face is covered with bandages, "Kya tum bhagwan ho, kya tum marr nahi sakte? Tum Bhagwan ho? Kaun ho Tum?" The man replies to her, "Dwapar yug se Dash avatar ki pratiksha kar raha hoon main, Dronacharya ka putra Ashwathama(Since the Dwapar Yug, I have waited for the Dasavatar)."
Now, several reports have revealed how much Amitabh Bachchan is charged to play this pivotal role in Nag Ashwin directorial. As per reports, Big B's fee to play Ashwathama in Kalki 2898 AD is Rs 18 crores. The film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 600 crores.?
Amitabh's fee is more than what Diljit Dosanjh charged for Amar Singh Chamkila.?Diljit Dosanjh's reported fee for Imtiaz Ali directorial is Rs 4 crores.?
Also starring Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani are also a part of the Kalki world. Kalki 2898 AD made waves after its groundbreaking debut at San Diego Comic-Con last year, earning massive global acclaim. The film is touted to be a mythology-inspired sci-fi extravaganza set in the future.?
Talking about the film Nag Ashwin had earlier revealed, "The film starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD. It spans 6000 years in time. We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian, and not make it look like Blade Runner."
The film is slated to be released on?May 9.
