Several Indian music composers including Anu Malik and?Pritam Chakraborty have often been accused of copying foreign music. Was it always intentional or were they mere coincidences??
Fans are bowled over after Israeli National Anthem and a song from the?1996 movie Diljale were clubbed together in a meme. Hatikvah and Ajay Devgn starrer Bollywood movie's song Mera Mulk Mera Desh almost sound similar. Did Anu Malik copy the national anthem of a nation thinking no one would ever get to know?
"They stole someone's land, a song is still a fair game. Giga Chad Anu Malik," one of the users said. "That's fine... Israel has stolen someone's land," joked another one. "Reason behind India and Israel's friendship," a third user said.
In 2023, Gilon had shared the audio clip along with the flags of India and Isreal, and wrote, "Today I discovered a beautiful Indian patriotic melody that deeply touched me. I couldn't help but notice the uncanny resemblance to Israel's national anthem, "Hatikvah," in the harmonious notes and cadence. Yet, it was the lyrics, that resonated in my heart like a beacon of hope and unity."
Hatikvah, composed in 1887, was adopted as Israel's National Anthem in 1948. Reacting to Gilon's post, many on X criticized the 62-year-old composer-singer.

Anu Malik has faced accusations of copying other musicians' work on multiple occasions. The singer, who won the National Award for Best Music Direction for the 2000 film "Refugee," has been called out for copying the music of Wham!'s "Last Christmas" for his 1995 track "Dil Mera Churaya Kyun," the tune of Linear's "Sending All My Love" for "Neend Churayi Meri" from "Ishq," and the music of Toto Cutugno's "L'Italiano" for the song "Nasha Ye Pyar Ka Nasha."??
