The drama around Anu Malik and Indian Idol is getting twisted day by day. According to reports, the backlash around Anu Malik being back as a judge on Indian Idol changed the channel's decision.
Reports claim that Sony Television is reconsidering its decision of having him as the judge for its latest season of Indian Idol. Just to jog your memory a little, music composer Anu Malik was fired from the singing reality show Indian Idol by Sony Entertainment Television after numerous allegations of sexual harassment were levelled against him by multiple women.?
Right after his name came forward in #MeToo, Sony Entertainment and the makers of the show had replaced him. But as soon as it was revealed that he was going to be one of the judges on the show, people started protesting for channel's hypocrisy. A Deccan Chronicle report quoted a source as saying,
"Anu Malik may be shown the door in the next few weeks. They thought the backlash against him had quietly died down. They never anticipated this new rising roar of protest against his return to the show."
A lot of fans of Indian Idol protested against channel's decision of getting him back on the show and this is what led to the change of decision. Shweta Pandit, Sona Mohapatra and two others, former assistant producer of Indian Idol Danica DĄ¯Souza had outed Anu Malik for his misconducts.
