Entrepreneurship-based reality show Shark Tank India became one of the most talked about shows since the time it aired. What made it even more popular was one of the investors Ashneer Grover whose witty mind and quirky takes on people's ideas made the show even more interesting.
Sony TV released the show¡¯s promo that has got the internet talking. Apart from Ashneer, Mama Earth¡¯s co-founder Ghazal Alagh is also skipping this season. The show is in a format where budding entrepreneurs bring up their unique idea on the show to raise investments and the show¡¯s sharks (investors) do their wise bids at negotiations for investing or rejecting the deal.
An interesting promo was shared by makers showing a woman bidding to buy groceries and mocking that vendor¡¯s price is too high and not even worth ?70. In a typical pitcher style, the vegetable seller explains his business model and comes to a calculation of his asset valuation at ?70 lakh. Cut to, he is seen in the shark tank dais which announces season 2 in a refreshed take. See promo here:
Shark Tank 2 is coming back with five sharks from the first season--Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boAt), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), and Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com). The show is seeing an addition of a new shark who is Amit Jain (CEO and Co-founder - CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com).
For the unversed, even the show¡¯s host Rannvijay Singha has been replaced with Stand-up comedian Rahul Dua. Although the official dates have not yet been announced, the show is expected to air sometime by late November or early December. Shark Tank India is a format created by Mark Burnett originally for the American edition that first aired in 2009 on the ABC channel. Other than India, the show also has international versions in countries like Australia, Mexico, Israel, Nepal, Columbia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malta.
