Ayushmann Khurrana, who had previously admitted to becoming arrogant after winning Roadies and following the release of his first film Vicky Donor, recently disclosed that he broke up with his girlfriend at the time, now his wife Tahira Kashyap, because he let success get to his head.
In an interview with Mashable, Khurrana said,?"It is very difficult to deal with fame when you are 16, 17 and in your teens. I remember I broke up with my then-girlfriend because I was getting attention from other girls."
For the unversed, Ayushmann was the winner of MTV Roadies season 2.?He continued,?"I went through that phase when you're just getting a taste of fame and popularity. I was the most popular guy in Chandigarh at that time and I broke with Tahira saying that 'I want to live my life' but after 6 months I went back to her and told her 'I can't do this anymore, f*ck boy nahi ban sakta mein."

Talking about the rough patch in their relationship, Ayushmann Khurrana's wife Tahira Kashyap said, "I had a problem with him kissing on screen. I felt like a big, huge fat whale sitting at home. When you are pregnant your hormones also go up and down. Here this boy is looking at his youngest youth best and he is romancing women and what is this onscreen kiss! We both were very young. He didn¡¯t have the time and patience to take me along and I didn¡¯t have the patience to understand. There was this disconnect that we were not there for each other to take each other along in that journey. Somewhere he knew that she didn¡¯t mean mad. I also knew he wasn't cheating. I had to evolve as a person to understand what art is."
Tahira said that while she had given up on him several times, he didn't. "I had given up many times but he did not. He didn¡¯t use to give up but he also didn¡¯t make up... We both have really evolved as artists, as companions and we have seen a journey including cancer being a part of it. Where we are right now, it is at its strongest best".

In another interview with Siddharth Kanan, Ayushmann admitted he became arrogant after his first film Vicky Donor turned out to be a huge success. "It happened with me when my first film was a hit. In fact, it happened when I won my first reality show but it did not happen professionally. Sometimes you tend you show your arrogance to your close ones but when I met people professionally, I wasn¡¯t affected by it. In my head, I had arrived,¡± he told YouTuber Sidharth Kannan.
