Big Brother Contestants Were The Last In The World To Know About Coronavirus, Can't Stop Crying

If you meet someone who doesn't know about Coronavirus, you'll wonder what they have been smoking up, right? As unbelievable as it may sound, some people have actually been living under a rock and had no clue about the pandemic.

German Big Brother contestants were the last ones to hear about Covid-19. When 18 of these contestants entered the Big Brother house on Feb 6, the outbreak was just starting to spread its wings out from China.?

However, now the situation is grave. Borders have been closed in many countries, travel has been banned and mostly people are in self-quarantine. So many people have died already. But broadcaster SAT.1 only thought now was the right time to tell the contestants about it.?

As the contestants were informed, most of them broke down in tears.?

They were told on Live TV. They had no clue about the situation outside. They were told that bars and restaurants have been shut. They were finally told the reason why they were not hearing the audience applause, because restrictions have been imposed on gatherings.

They were also shown a video about coronavirus spreading through the world. A doctor then showed them the importance of washing hands thoroughly.?

The channel faced a lot of criticism for keeping this news away from the contestants. To this they said, "The health and wellbeing of Big Brother Housemates is our priority. All current productions were informed last week that the usual format rules regarding outside news do not apply in this instance, and it was requested that they inform their respective housemates of the evolving situation regarding Covid-19. The majority of the Housemates have already been briefed and this process will complete today (17 March)"

Apparently, new contestants who enterted the show a couple of days ago, were banned from telling others. ?
