As the government eased down the lockdown guidelines from today onward, a lot of chaos is being seen in several cities, especially after liquor stores have opened up.
People have been acting absurdly silly it seems. Ignoring the social distancing norm and putting their own safety at risk, thousands of people queued outside liquor stores in several cities.
People started lining up from 7:30 am in the morning, even before the shops opened. In pictures and videos doing the rounds, people can be seen in long queues. It was indeed difficult for the police to manage everyone. Due to this, liquor stores have been shut in some parts.?
Sharing the news, Malaika Arora wrote on Instagram, "I still don't get Wat was the need or desperation or nessecity to open liquor shops!!!!! Bad bad idea. Only gonna create more chaos, domestic abuse, child abuse(sic)."?
Sophie Choudary had also tweeted, "Cannot believe the line for the #LiquorShop coming all the way around the corner! Groups coming on bikes, no social distancing like I¡¯ve seen at other stores..I mean was this really necessary? I¡¯m all for boosting the economy..but this?! Plus increased risk of domestic violence."
Bareilly Ki Barfi director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari also expressed her anger on Twitter.
"As the lockdown continues domestic violence in homes continues too. With opening of liquor shops barring people who can handle it calmly & wisely. There will be silent tears of women & children who will bear effects of aggressive behaviour patterns from men with low self esteem," she wrote.?
Paresh Rawal mocked the entire situation and wrote, " "A humble appeal from the Government before opening the wine shops- Please drive straight to your homes after drinking. No one must go to China to fight.".?
The situation is getting out of hands.
