Rasha Thadani's item dance track 'Uyi Amma'?from the film Azaad has taken social media by storm, with countless reels showcasing the song. However, the spotlight on this track isn't just about its virality¡ªit's about Rasha herself, who is only 19 years old. The internet is abuzz with criticism, not for the song's choreography but for what many view as its overtly sexualised nature. Critics have now turned their attention to her mother, actor Raveena Tandon, accusing her of allowing her teenage daughter to be portrayed in this manner and saying she should be ashamed for condoning it.
A Reddit? post, titled "Raveena should be ashamed of herself for letting her teenage daughter be sexualized like that in an item number," did not hold back in its critique.

"Watching that song, which is all over social media, is making me squirm," the post began. "Rasha is just about five years older than Aaradhya," referring to Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's daughter.
The post targetted Raveena Tandon and her husband, questioning their parenting choices. "Both Raveena and her husband have been in the film industry for over three decades and still let their teenage daughter be sexualized like this in an item song. It's absolutely disgusting. They have failed as parents."
"She still looks like a kid with that baby face and innocence," the post stated, adding that such an overtly sexualized portrayal was inappropriate for someone so young.
Criticism extended to Rasha's career choices, with the poster lamenting that she wasn't given roles more fitting for her age and stage of life.
"Did they not have any better scripts where she could have done regular girl-next-door characters like Alia, Ananya, or Shraddha did in their first few years? She could have discovered herself as an actor and matured as a person and then done an item song if she later wished to."
The post also took aim at Raveena Tandon's recent comments about the song. "And then I'm seeing clips of Raveena saying she could never have done the song like Rasha has. Very, very messed up," the post concluded.
In the comments section, one user noted, "I've seen more posts about that girl in the last week than any other newcomer. So I guess they achieved what they were going for!"
Another added, "Raveena knows exactly what she's doing. She's making sure Rasha has mass appeal."
Meanwhile, someone else offered a different take: "The girl can dance and give expressions. I'm here for it!"
Let's not forget, at 19, Rasha is technically an adult and fully capable of making her own decisions. Maybe it's time the internet gives her (and her family) some breathing room instead of acting like the moral police for strangers' life choices!
