Morrocan- Indian dancer Nora Fatehi can groove anyone to her moves. She made her established name in Bollywood after giving cult dance numbers like Dilbar, Saki Saki, and Kamariya. Since her arrival in this industry, there¡¯s no looking after any other dancer to make a peppy number superhit. A piece of news that is buzzing around Nora recently is her event in Bangladesh¡¯s Dhaka getting canceled for some undigestable reason.
Reportedly, the Bangladesh government denied Nora Fatehi permission to perform at an event to save dollars as part of austerity measures. As reported by NDTV, this decision was taken in view of the global situation and to maintain the foreign exchange reserves. Nora was supposed to attend an event organized by the Women Leadership Corporation. She was likely to dance on the stage and later hand out awards.
On Monday, Bangladesh's Ministry of Cultural Affairs issued a notice announcing the same and quoted, ¡°Ms Fatehi wasn't granted permission ¡°in view of the global situation and with the aim of maintaining the foreign exchange reserves.¡± Reportedly, ¡°the ministry referred to the central bank's restrictions on dollar payments amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves, which slipped to $36.33 billion as of Oct. 12 -- enough to cover roughly four months of imports -- from $46.13 billion a year earlier.¡±
¡°As per Anne-Marie Gulde-Wolf, later this month, the deputy director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the International Monetary Fund is getting prepared to send its first negotiation mission to Bangladesh to talk about the loans that the country has pursued¡±, reported Koimoi.
Nora is currently judging season 10 of the dance reality show ¡®Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa¡¯ alongside Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit Nene. Apparently, Nora was herself a contestant in the ninth season of the show. Back then, the actress had ended up in tenth place in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 9. Nora's latest released song ¡®Manike¡¯ with Sidharth Malhotra from ¡®Thank God¡¯ has become a viral trend on the internet.
The actress will be seen in a full-fledged acting role in Sajid Khan¡¯s directorial comedy-drama 100%. The film which is scheduled to release next year also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Shehnaaz Gill, and John Abraham. 100% marks Sajid's comeback to direction after nine years since he has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women during the MeToo movement in 2018.
