Popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, best known for song Ya Ali from Gangster, was performing at a concert in the state and a controversy erupted. A fan of the melodious singer, a female home guard named Milliprabha Chutia climbed up the stage to show her love for the singer. As seen in the viral video, she not only hugged him mid-concert but also kissed him on stage. She has now been suspended.?
Milliprabha Chutia has been suspended for her inappropriate behaviour and her apparent negligence and misconduct while she was on duty. She was?stationed at Chabua Police Station in Dibrugarh district. In the video, she can also be seen?touching the singer's feet. Speaking about the incident, a?police official from Chabua police station told GPlus, "Mili Prabha Chutia has been suspended post her behaviour on stage which was deemed inappropriate."
While some fans feel that she shouldn't have been suspended, others said the right decision has been taken. "The right action was taken. Sadly, such right action wasn't taken on the bar owners who attempted arson on the cop a few weeks earlier," a comment read.?"That¡¯s a wise decision by @assampolice , She should have reached the stage or him for that posture without the uniform," said another one. "On duty in full uniform, but doesn't know protocols," said another.?The concert was reportedly held on?May 10, 2024.

Last month, the renowned singer said that Assam would never accept the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA, and protests against it should continue but without any bloodshed. "I will continue protesting against CAA in my own ways. On stage or on social media ¡ª wherever, however I can," Garg, considered the youth icon in the state, said.?He claimed that the government was trying to "impose" the CAA, but the people of the state would never accept it.?He asserted that there was no room for any Hindu-Muslim divide in Assam, and only the people of Assam and India would stay here, not from anywhere else.
