In a candid interview with Bollywood Hungama, Naezy, the renowned rapper, spilled the beans on his feelings about the Bollywood hit Gully Boy, which brought his life story into the limelight.
Naezy revealed a surprising fact: his parents haven't seen Gully Boy! Why? The rapper explained that certain elements in the film were made up, like his dad having two wives and him juggling two relationships. In reality, his parents are happily together, and he's not the two-timing guy the movie portrayed.
While some parts of the film aligned with Naezy's real-life journey, like his music-making on an iPad and coming from a Muslim family, he emphasised that other aspects were exaggerated. Naezy urged fans not to believe everything they saw and promised to share his genuine story soon.
Gully Boy brought a whirlwind of change for Naezy, but it wasn't all sunshine. The film had a dual impact on his life: it was a game-changer for his career but also a psychological challenge due to the creative liberties taken with his personal story. Despite the ups and downs, Naezy remains thankful for the doors Gully Boy opened.
Gully Boy made a big leap, representing India at the Oscars. However, the journey didn't end with a nomination.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film featured a cast including Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vijay Varma, and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
