In a shocking turn of events, Vishal Dadlani, the music composer, has bid farewell to Indian Idol and announced that he will no longer be a judge on the singing reality show starting from the upcoming season. Last night¡¯s Indian Idol 15 finale was Vishal¡¯s final episode, as he revealed in a behind-the-scenes video featuring set antics with co-judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah. Vishal announced his departure from the show, stating that he "can¡¯t stay stuck in Mumbai for six months each year." Additionally, the singer stated that it's "time to get back to making music, playing concerts, and almost never putting on make-up."
?He also mentioned, ¡°That¡¯s all from me, folks! Six straight seasons later, tonight is my last episode as a judge on Indian Idol. I hope the show will miss me as much as I¡¯ll miss it. Thanks Shreya, Badshah, Adi, Aradhana, Chitra, Anand ji, Sonal, Pratibha, Sahil, Saloni, Muskaan, Abisha, the entire production crew, Vilas Pakya, Kaushik (Pinky), and all the co-judges, singers and musicians down the years! It really has been home!!! That stage is pure LOVE! Time to get back to making music, playing concerts and almost never putting on make-up! Jai ho!"
Taking to the comment section, fans and other artists expressed their sorrow and said that it won¡¯t be the same without him.?
In 1994, Dadlani began his musical career as the frontman of the electronica/indie-rock group Pentagram, based in Mumbai. Pentagram is regarded as one of the forerunners of independent music in India. During his time with the band, he became well-known as a vocalist, songwriter, and composer of Bollywood music, making music for films such as Bluffmaster!, Salaam Namaste, and Jhankaar Beats.
