The biggest takeaway for Indians from the?iPhone 13 event was the most unexpected tune being played -- which in turn made them lose their calm. It was a tune from?1971's popular song 'Dum Maro Dum' by legendary composer R D Burman. It was a surreal moment.?
Singer Usha Uthup was ecstatic as she wished Burman was alive to see this today. "This is a very special, golden moment for RD Burman. I wish he was alive to enjoy it," she told Etimes.
Not only Usha Uthup, but Zeenat Aman?who starred in the song along with Dev Anand for film Hare Rama Hare Krishna has also reacted to this. "Wow! 1971 music still resonating after 40 years! What a song!," she told ETimes.
"The film was shot in Kathmandu and when I frankly heard this song for the first time, I loved it but surely didn't expect it to become such a mammoth chartbuster. They all talk to me about this when I am at any music event even today," she added.
The song used in the commercial is Work All Day by Footsie that has used Dum Maro Dum as a sample -- which means it has reused a a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording.
