With their exorbitant salaries and mental entourage expenses, performers in the Hindi film industry have been accused of ¡®sucking the system dry¡¯ by actor John Abraham. John believes that it needs to be changed by those in the industry. In a recent interview, John responded that it was ¡®mental¡¯ when asked about ¡®heroes asking for Rs 100 crore per day and their stylists' demanding Rs 2 lakh per day.¡¯
When asked about the massive paychecks, John told The Hollywood Reporter, It¡¯s already hurting Hindi cinema. At this point in time, we shouldn¡¯t be paying people to act in films because we don¡¯t justify those huge budgets, the huge fees that we get paid. We can¡¯t load a film with entourage costs as well. It¡¯s ridiculous. I don¡¯t know if actors are thinking this way or is it their agent making them think differently. I don't get that space. I understand you are put in a bubble, but you can¡¯t be so daft.¡±
?John Abraham emphasised the need for actors to maintain their groundedness while voicing his concerns about the status of Hindi cinema today. " nstead of living in a bubble, industry professionals should go out and experience the real world, he said.¡°If people are blowing sunshine from your backside, you need to wake up and smell the coffee. As an industry, we are really suffering,¡± he added.
The actor also urged his fellow performers to recognise the challenges facing the industry, giving them some shrewd advice. He said that performers need to be more active in the filmmaking process and acknowledge that they are in a challenging circumstance. He believes that since actors have already made a lot of money, they should only make money when a movie is a success. He asked, "How much longer will you suck the system dry?" He did, however, also note that the problem is not unique because producers are still paying excessive costs, which makes it a systematic issue.
?For those who don¡¯t know, John Abraham will next be seen in The Diplomat. The movie will be released worldwide on 7th March 2025.?
